You know, with seeing some really small Bluetooth adapters these days, what is with Logitech not being able to bundle Bluetooth support for use with the PS3? Even their most expensive remote doesn't have it, I mean come on really? Also yes, I am aware there are adapters, that isn't the point... You shouldn't need one.

The buttons on my 880 failed after a year. Just over a year so the warranty doesn't do anything... They offered me 50% off their remotes but they're still expensive after 50%. No $150 remote should fail after a year. It is a known problem too (their forum has a huge thread about it)

You're asking the wrong question. What you should be asking is this: With the small size and low cost of IR receivers (literally pennies in high volume), why doesn't Sony put one in the PS3 so that it can be used with universal remotes? The PS3 is a lot more than just a game system, so it should be able to play friendly like the rest of your home entertainment equipment, especially since so many people are now using it for watching movies (disc and streaming). I mean come on really?
