LetsTalk.com has some of the best deals on phones however, they have a lot of restriction regarding "new" lines. I tried adding a line thru them and they told me that they had to set up another account w/ Sprint so I can get the "sale" price. Having 2 different accounts w/ the same company just didnt sound like a good idea to me. But, if you never had an account w/ a certain wireless company. Go for it!

That's a great deal for the phone. HOWEVER, I gotta warn you about Sprint's service. Unless they've made some drastic improvements in the last four years, the calls drop constantly, and many times, the phone never rings (you get a voicemail 3 or 4 hours later!).

Ask people in your area how well Sprint works for them before chaining yourself to them for 2 years.

Caveat emptor!

:suspicious:

I don't have any direct experience with Sprint, but 4 years is a very, very long time when you're talking about a wireless service. I wouldn't base any wireless purchase decision on what a service was like 4 years ago.

My advice stands. Before you lock yourself into a two-year contract, find out if the service works. If you've been a Verizon guy for your entire cell-phone using life, then you may take it for granted that cellular service always works.

You're correct, of course, that the service may have improved in the last few years. I have confirmed that the Sprint service is still crappy in NYC, though.

I've heard crappy things about Sprint. I have an unlocked Palm on T Mobile that works fine but before I upgrade I'm waiting for Verizon to start offering the Pre.

Even though this deal is long over, I feel like I should comment on the Sprint service.
I currently have the Sprint Palm Pre, but I did have the Sprint Instinct for a year and half [until I renewed contract to get the Palm Pre] and I get service just about everywhere. Sometimes in basements it juggles between 0-2 bars but even then for the most part I will have at least one bar.
And although I do get all my calls and voicemails on time, sometimes the texts are off by 15-20 mins. [I can tell because sometimes people comment that it takes me to long to answer when in reality i just recieved the text.]
So yes, service has gotten significantly better. Most of the bad talk are probably from other customers like you guys [not taking a stab at anyone] who never experienced it and just read about it.
Worth a try... especially with Palm Pre.:peace:
