(Expired) Playstation 3 - Will Be Available on Costco.com at 8am PST

Costco.com is planning to sell Sony Playstation 3s on their site sometime around 8am PST today (11/17).

- Download Firefox Plug-in to auto reload for you (this way you can just sit back and sip coffee)

- You may want to be signed in or have an account /w them to make the checkout faster.
 
Their website isn't even coming up. Looks like they are already swamped. I am guessing it will crash them.

Early

They started early around 7:45 AM PST. It was sold out in minutes. They had a message saying it was reserved for Costco members only.
 
Price 699.99 plus tax and shipping....still trying to chekout

Then this may go on for months. You guys have to calm down so that the prices will come down sooner.
 
i added to cart, took forever to add cart. but couldn't check out...page timed out

This is just nuts. Didn't costco know that their site was going to be hammered? Wtf is wrong with these people? Their HTTPS secure server seems to be crashed.

People are CRAZY
 
They have sold out of the PS3 bundle. The $699 price included a game and an extra controller.

I don't think thier server crashed as much as there were just so many requests to the server that there was no bandwidth to handle it. Almost the same scenario as Denial of Service.
 
I too can only add to cart, then that's it. I can't checkout because the site keeps crashing. Now they posted a SOLD OUT sign on the mainpage.
 
Ok how the hell were people able to order it then? I've been refreshing since 7:59AM PST?

I even have firefox set to 30 requests, and I'm sure that gave me an edge over others...but wtf? I tried to add to card like 200 times, and it wouldn't go to the HTTPS server to check out.

I'm going to complain to Costco, I've been a member with them forever...they better give me a coupon.
 
Weird, There was a ton of traffic, but I managed to get one using refresh only twice.
 
Of course they'll give you a coupon. It will be good for when they have sufficient stock :) ... probably around March 2007
