Unfortunately, I just learned on their site that this refurb offer does not apply to out-of-contract AT&T customers. They want you to go to an AT&T center and pay the full price of the iPhone - that doesn't sound like fair treatment of existing customers. I give AT&T an F for efford on working on keeping old customers

AT&T (or Cingular if they can ever make up their mind on what they call themselves) was terrible for us. We were getting all kinds of crazy nonsense charges from locations we've never visited. And we got tons of dropped calls. An "F" in my book too.

Also, another thing to note is the referb phones that AT&T is stilling were NOT refurbished by Apple, they were referbed by AT&T. I don't trust AT&T with refurbished phones. If you buy a referbed phone from Apple it looks brand new and carries the standard full warranty, not the 90 day that AT&T is giving. So in short, it's a great price, but I wouldn't trust it.

Yuup, AT&T customer service is getting worst and worst since they merged with Cingular. Their customer service reps need to get more training. They ripped me off on my Internet service and I cancel it. On top of that since I renew my cel phone contract with them, my calls dropped left and right, now I am stuck with them for another year.

Apple in other hand is excellence in customer service. I brought my broken Iphone in, it's still under warranty, no paper, nothing, they checked and give me a new one. No hassle at all. All their refurbished carry 1 year warranty as new ones.

Just checked the link. Only a $50 discount. I don't mind buying refurbished but $50 just isn't enough of a discount for a refurbished iphone.
