$25 off for just 2 bucks at a place I've been looking for an excuse to try. Good Stuff.

lots of these restaurants actually will not warrant the coupon. I've been turned back 1 out of every 2 restaurants i've tried.

I'm always surprised to hear that. There are very few restaurants in our town that participate, but we've never had a problem. I've also used them while vacationing out-of-town without trouble. I'd sure be makeing a phone call if the restaurant is not honoring something they authorized to be sold. Did you call the website? and what did they say? I'm curious.

I am too scared to try again

If it is something discount, you just buy and go. For these coupons, you have to present to the waiter/waitress at first. From that moment on, their service attitudes toward you will be changed. They think that you are cheap.

Before you show them the coupon, you have to order a lot to meet the minimum price for purchase, so they are happy to serve you. Right after you show them the coupon. They are not happy or friendly anymore.

I've tried Indian, Italian, Mexican restaurants. They all have the same attitudes towards Restaurant coupon users. That's why they are offering you 60% or 80% on their own website. You can go there anytime to get the deal.

I always show this coupon when I ask for my check to avoid anything less from their regular food.

Also the tip should still be on the value of the total before coupon so could the waiter treating you badly be psychological?

For $2.00 I'm willing to risk it since I've been planning on going regardless.

That depends on the terms of the individual restaurant - it will say on the certificate along with how much you must spend. Most of them do not have this requirement.

Haven't had that problem, but i've only presented with my card for payment. Lady was very friendly and helpful even about the gift certificate. Just be sure to give them a nice tip on the FULL amount of the order. That will help their attitude (if they do in fact have one) afterall - they get paid your tip, not what you pay the restaurant.

:bigok:

Used mine today. Even asked the waitress at the beginning if she needed the coupon up front (she said no). She was extremely nice the whole time and I had a fantastic time at a restaurant that I had not tried before. The coupon totally served its purpose for the owner too, because I liked the place and will very likely go back again some time.

Probably helped that the coupon had a 20% tip as a requirement which was automatically added to the bill so she got payed decently for the service. Since she was a nice waitress she would have gotten that much from me either way though.

I've never tried these, I've only used the entertainment book.....I think I'll try these next time around.....thanks...;)
