I'm not sure if this is how Spoofee got there, but the website lists the original price at 749; 40% off 749 leaves 449.40. So, yeah, it's 40% off, but not off the already-reduced price of 524.

Those who follow price-patterns or deal threads - Is this a good value/price?

I notice it does have some interesting features - HDMI out, bluetooth, 802.11n wireless support, pretty decent RAM and HDD, built-in webcam, 6-cell battery (instead of 4), and Windows 7.

However, from the specs, I also notice that it doesn't have an optical drive - so I can't use it to play my DVDs , or install anything using a CD/DVD ? Hmm !!

I ordered it realizing it didnt have an internal DVD drive, but i liked that it had 500gb, and was light, my external DVD drive can be used to load software, and movies.... I download them, so don't need to lug a $500 dvd player around.

Looks like a decent deal but it doesn't show the speed of it. Any clue to what the speed is?

Also what does this mean for memory, "Configured with 4 GB DDR3 (max 8 GB)"?

Does it have 4GB or 8GB memory? I don't quite understand this.
