i found this other info earlier, not as good as the above offer, i think, so you can just ignore it all

this might be a tad higher than your limit of $120 shipped, but ...

outpost.com has the Ximeta 160GB NDU10-160 Netdisk Portable Ethernet/USB2.0 Hard Drive for $169.99 AR - $50 MIR = $119.99 AR plus probably around $5-6 for shipping (plus maybe sales tax). this offer is available at fry's b&m (brick & mortar. in other words, the physical store)for the same price ($119.99AR) and if you buy it in-store, then you don't have to pay for shipping.

if you happen to live near a fry's, then for about $20 more, you can get a Seagate 300GB usb 2.0 external HD (item # 4596317, 7200rpm, 16mb buffer, reg price $259.99) for $189.99 - $50 MIR = $139.99 AR

i think both of the above offers are available until this coming tuesday (1/10/06)

maxtor 200gb hd for $129.94 or less

from 1/8/06 until 1/14/06, Staples will have the Maxtor 200GB 7200 RPM Personal Storage 3100 External Hard Drive for $129.94 Shipped with NO rebate required. If you go to eBay and can find and buy a coupon for any dollars off amount when you spend $100 or more, then you can save a bit more.

i have coupon for $20 off $150 (it's printable + it has an online code) - i could give it to you (for free, of course). then you could buy $20 worth of stuff in addition the hard drive, and you'd basically be getting your additional items for free (not the hd, though). just let me know if you need it.

again, i know this one is a bit over your limit of $120, but it's kinda close, maybe?

there's also a deal for an acomdata 160gb usb2.0 (item#318921) or firewire (item#319853) external hd from compusa (available 1/8/06 to 1/14/06) for $129.99 - $20 instant savings - $30 MIR = $79.99 (i think they charge around $5 for shipping)

Different Price

Thanks Penpen for your help! I am definitely interested in the Staples offer. However, when I went to the Staples link that you provided the price is $149.98. Do you know when the price is expected to drop?

I am interested in the staples coupon. Could you send the coupon code, and a copy that I could print? [email protected] I'd love to be able to give my hubby this for his b-day on Tuesday, which means that I might have to pick it up at a local store.

THANKS!

I just emailed the coupon to you, so you should receive it soon.

The Staples offer starts tomorrow, and is valid until Saturday. It's much easier than the Circuit City deal for the Western Digital 250GB HD for $119.99 AR that starts tomorrow, although if you don't mind dealing with a couple rebates, you'd end up paying a little less and get a hard drive that had more storage capacity. it also got good reviews from CC customers.

whichever deal works out for you, i hope your hubby is happy with his birthday present. Happy Birthday to him! :)

Do you know where I would find the CC rebates?
since the deal starts on sunday, then they'll probably be posted on the CC website tomorrow. CC usually updates their site between saturday night and sunday morning (they usually have things updated by ~ 9am est on sunday - i'd check their site then)

in general, if you're ever looking for a Circuit city rebate, they can be found by going to the following links:

circuit city rebates - http://www.ccityrebates.com/

manufacturer's rebates - http://www.circuitcity.com/ccd/lookLearn.do?cat=-13412&edOid=105487&c=1

Circuit City Coupons - ymmv

you can try to use these codes to buy the HD online and select the in-store pick-up option to pick up the HD at your local CC

$15 off your next purchase of $100 or more when you shop at Circuit City
code: 100038563
valid: 1/6/06 - 1/15/06

$25 off $200
code: 100038375
valid: 1/6/06 - 1/15/06

i think these won't work if you want the items shipped to you. also, you'd need to add at least $0.01 to get the $25 off $200 to work.

egads, there's one more deal for a Maxtor® ULC External Hard Drive, 200GB, 7200 RPM for $149.99 - $60 rebate = $89.99 AR. it seems this deal is available in store only.

(it's on page 8 of their ad for this week, and for some reason, page 8 is missing from their online ad. go figure  )
