I just went for my over due eye exam because even though i wear no line bifocals,my vision isn't the greatest so i went and had my eyes examined.
The doctor asked if i was having any problems.I told him that i could see things closer up than i could see farther away.I also told him that at night, traffic lights, and stars have little points coming off of them.Thats when he said that i am glad i brought it to his attention. It seems that i am in the very, very, very begining stages of cataracts.Hmm..45 and begining to develop cataracts. He asked me if i smoke.I don't.But i guess if you smoke, your chance of developing cataracts is high.I am around people who smoke all of the time.
This is just a little f.y.i.

I had a cataract in one eye when I was 40. I think it was because when I was a kid I got hit pretty hard in the eye (needed stitches to put the eyelid on tight). It started to develop and I thought it might be nutritional (I hadn't smoked for 20 years) so I tried all manner of exercise and diet to where I was Vegan, cleansing, running marathons, etc... At 42 I realized that I was more physically healthy and in-shape than I had been for my whole life. But I still had the cataract. 2 years later (after lots of fear) I decided on surgery and then realized it was probably really due to the eye trauma when a kid. After the surgery my x-cataract eye was almost 20/20 and I wished I had done it earlier.
I now can "almost" pass my DL eye exam and only wear glasses for far away.
