ok, I am getting bummed out by the freebies I am missing because of a lack of facebook id. So tell me about it. What exactly am I giving up if I join?

(being a mom of 6 stuck in the '60s, I am a little behind in the times.) :blushing:

My main issue is I really don't want anyone in my, um, past to be able to find me on facebook. Is there a way to stay anonymous, yet still get the freebies companies offer?

I also don't want people to "friend" (or find) me.

Advise, please!

you can be as phony as you want to be on there. make up everything (except your address when the freebies are offered...and post no pics. :teeth:). There are security settings you can go through during setup.

You can find Sunbeam on FB listed under Pee Wee Mcgee........:pound:

.....am I the only one intrigued by the Spoofee trying to escape her past?!!

:thinking:Witness relocation? :thinking:Former pole dancer? Mafia informant? Menudo Fan Club member?

My bird has a page  With my address for freebies :teeth:

I won't mention his first name, but his last name on there is "Bird"

:yesnod: He even has a picture on there :photo:

Are you serious?????? Don't answer that.

You can set your account to only allow people who are on your friends list to see your profile and even if they do find your name you have control over who you allow as a friend. You can set your profile as private also.

I have an "alter ego" Facebook account just for Spoofee. Use any name you want, just don't reuse dbee's birds name (!), and like someone else said, your correct mailing address. This seems to be the way to go for freebies and sweeps now as a lot of companies are having you friend them on Facebook.

:thinking:hmmmm.....and now I'm wondering if her last name isn't really Brady?

You can create a family list & change your privacy settings so only people that are your friend can read your info.

You guys are great! :grouphug:

Hmmmm... we have a dog, a cat, 6 birds, 2 rats, and 3 fish tanks full of fish... I'm sure I could help one of them get their own facebook page... :yo:

:motz: You do?

I tried to get you on there and you rejected me :bawling:

:listen: Just recently my :trytofly: bird got a friends request from someone on here  She just figured since we had so many friends in common it must be someone from on here

I told her today that it was actually my real birds :trytofly: page.

Just create an account for freebies only. You don't have to use your real name and you don't have to add friends.

You may bump into someone from your past, whom you really miss in life.

True. But with Facebook, Myspace, texting, phones, Etc, people are spoon fed socially & have forgotten how to talk in person.
