At the checkout, it actually adds the coupon value to my total cost instead of giving me the discount.

It worked for me. Maybe reload browser and try again?

Purchase The Family Guy, Vol. 2: Season 3 and receive $20 after mail-in rebate! Offer valid from 12/8/2005 to 12/8/2005.

Make sure you order today!

Also, I chose the cheapest shipping method (Budget - 7 to 9 Business Days), and the total with tax came to:

$29.84 - $20 Rebate = $9.84

Still a great deal for a great show! :D

Edit:

Wait a second, my final receipt says this:

Subtotal: $25.49

Shipping Charges: (Budget) $1.98

Tax: $2.37

Total: $34.34

What the heck? That math isn't working for me ...

Look at the comments for the Die Hard deal a couple days ago. We had the same problem.

I sent them an email complaining and they assured me my credit card was charged for the right amount.

I also went online a couple hours after I ordered it to cancel my order because they have a reputation for not paying the rebates but then last night I got an email saying that my order had shipped. We'll see.

If I don't get my rebate I will initiate a chargeback with my credit card company. Ordinarily, you only have 60 days from the date you receive your statement to contest a charge but there is no deadline in the event of fraud.

yeah, thats not right.. total should be $25.49 + $1.98 + $2.37 = $29.84

Hmm :hmm:

Hmmm ... I did send an email to them minutes before I received a confirmation email about my order

In the email:

Subtotal with Discount: $25.49
Shipping Charges: $1.98
Tax: $2.37
TOTAL: $29.84

And I just checked my online banking and my credit card was charged $29.84.

That's the right price. So I wonder if they fixed it after receiving my complaint or perhaps the site was just showing the totals wrong ... no idea, haha.

Hope the rebate comes through!

I took the bait too. Charged me $33.89 - didn't apply the free shipping and added in the $4.50 discount.

E-mailed customer service - got an auto-reply that someone will contact me by tomorrow.

You would think they'd fix this problem - easier than having to answer a ton of e-mails of unhappy customers and possible cancelling of orders.

In their response to me, they said we cannot get the free shipping because it doesn't apply to these 'really cheap after rebate' deals. Plus, I clearly saw that I was being charged shipping before I clicked on the Confirm It button.

My only concern at this point will be the rebate showing up.

They got me too... Grand Total: $34.34... Sent them an email about that 15% *ON discount and the Free Shipping offer. Now I know why they didn't put up a cusomer support number.

Thanks for all the honest comments. I was going to order this but after reading about screwed up accounts and rebates that may or may not go through, it really doesn't seem like a bargain. You would think Fye would want a good reputation but it sounds like they don't care. Family Guy reruns are on all the time so I'll just keep watching them for now!!

I just hope that the rebate goes through!

Order #254XXXXX

sometimes, i think it's better to call. maybe those of you who got charged shipping can give fye a call about that.

FYI about FYE

I called corporate in Albany, left msg on voice mail, supposedly someone will call back - won't hold my breath.

Obvisouly they don't care about what's right or wrong. I received an e-mail stating since I used the discount code that it wasn't eligible for the free shipping. No where is that indicated and I asked via return e-mail to have them show me where when using a discount coupon and still having the required amount of purchase to receive fee shipping where you won't get free shipping. I've never heard of such a thing - they are ridiculous. First and last time I'll order from them.

They went and shipped my order - and I in turn will go ahead and challenge  the $1.98 charge on my bill. Again, it's not the money, but the principal.

"We apologize for any inconvenience you have experienced. This is to inform you that promotion code #A1D2E1FC has already been applied on the order which gave a discount of $4.50. Further, we have billed your credit card in the amount of $29.74 on 12/11/2005."
now if you guys gonna fight for the $1.98 shipping, let me know how ;) I'll join ya
