Firestone/Mastercare coupons -- $9.99 oil change

Be careful with Firestone, their Mastercare service/coupons usually involve you signing up for their 'Mastercare' card, which they don't mention that it's really a credit card (with 19+% interest). Not a big deal but don't be surprised if they want to put the oil change/tire purchase/everything else 'on the card.' Anyone else have this problem or is it just the slezy people in Henrietta, NY?

I've used plenty of Firestone coupons before for cheap oil changes and they never have a problem with them. We barely put any miles on any of the cars we own anymore but I still normally go there, but it's under my dad's company car maintenence program.

You shouldn't have to sign up for anything, they always accept my coupons there with gratis.

P.S. Just keep in mind that either way, coupon or not they're going to hit you with the $1.75 disposal fee plus a few other taxes, if applicable. Also, remember to tell them you want the most basic oil change possible, of course they're always trying to sell you crap you don't need. Make sure you make it clear to them that the only oil change you want is the one for $9.99, or else they might bump it up automatically or deceive you with their sweet talk. :D

I have never had any problems with them trying to get me to sign-up for Mastercare card. I just call ahead and see how busy they are and take my car in.

Maybe it's just my local Firestone; they don't take any 'mastercare' coupons unless you're a mastercare card holder.
