Obopay is giving out a $10 prepaid mastercard. You just have to sign up for their free account.

These guys have been features in Forbes and Wall Street Journal so should be credible.

- Link to Offer
- Link to Another Offer

Both offers are from Obopay's Web site. I doubt you can sign up for both.

Tell me honestly, guys. Is this for real or a scam? That "Unpursuable" on the BBB web site is bugging me--what do they mean, "Company cannot be located"?

Looks like the real deal...

I'm not quite sure exactly what that means. I own a business and the BBB reported something strange on my account too until I had to contact them and have it removed. I am guessing the BBB didn't receive a response from the company.

Okay, well if one of you tries it, would you let me know if you get the $10? Then I might sign up. Thanks!

i did it quite a while ago when you got some kind of bonus from mypoints for registering. then it was like $25 plus you can get up to 3 seperate accounts. so i ended up w/$75 for free. i havent added any money to my cards so i dont know how well that works but ive had no problem spending the free money they gave me.

Must have a mobile phone, which I don't--and DH would never let me give out his cell number, so I guess I can't do this one. Thanks anyway!

if you dont plan on actually using the card beyond the intial free $10, im pretty sure you can use any phone # including your home. you just have to pretend its your cell#

Nope i tried its says my phone number is not a valid mobile number :(

It worked for me, I got my $10. You do have to have a cell. When you sign up, it sends you a text msg with a pin # to verify it's your phone number.

Yep used Hubby's cell worked for me Got my $10 today in my bank account yippee! But now anyone who signs up only gets $5 dollars they must have gotten alot of request.... :hahaha:

Well, I was just in the process of signing up. But then I got to the part about requiring that I enter a Driver's License Number, SSN, or Credit Card Number, and I got cold feet. Sorry guys, but this is making me uncomfortable. There are ways of verifying someone's identity without asking for a SSN or Credit Card Number. Heck, Philip Morris' web site does it all the time.

Enjoy your $10 debit cards. It's not for me.

You can thank the Patriot Act for requiring a DL, SSN, or otherwise. Anytime you sign up with a bank or other financial institution, you have to provide some form of verifiable ID so the government knows the bank isn't funding a terrorist.
