I will tell all of you a true story that none of you will believe.
When I was a young man I was invited to a wedding of the son of a famous publisher who married a cosmo cover lady.
At the dinner afterwards I had my first taste of Caviar.
I loved it and downed half a tin of it when my friend, Roger P,( he was about 15 years older than me and The hapless guy who was getting married) came up to me and said,
I see you really like caviar.
I told him this stuff is great!!!
he told me ,
"You managed to eat hald a tin of it and it cost $10,000 an ounce.
I didn't believe him back then but He gave me the rest of the tin ( another half pound).
I later learned that, In fact, it actually cost that much. Seems Our Govt had an embargo on Russian Caviar back then.
Roger's Pop Was a famous publisher and he could well afford it but I never forgot what has to be the most expensive dinner anyone ever ate!!
Wow, and I still love Caviar!!!
