I tested this out by asking for my local Papa John's pizza. There was a ten second ad for the Puerto Rico tourism bureau. I'd rather hear that then pay $1, for sure.

I use 800-FREE-411 all the time from my home and cell phone. Works great! Sometimes you have to listen to a short ad and other times no ad at all.

Free411 has been around for a while. They used to connect you to the number for a 10 minute call at no additional charge. (which was really handy when you were on a cell phone without anything handy to write a number down).
