Free Harvard Education (REALLY)

Harvard University announced over the weekend that from now on
undergraduate students from low-income families will pay no tuition.
In making the announcement, Harvard's president Lawrence H. Summers
said, "When only 10 percent of the students in Elite higher education
come from families in lower half of the income distribution, we are not
doing enough. We are not doing enough in bringing elite higher education
to the lower half of the income distribution."
If you know of a family earning less than $40,000 a year with an honor
student graduating from high school soon, Harvard University wants to
pay the tuition. The prestigious university recently announced that from
now on undergraduate students from low-income families can go to Harvard
for free...no tuition and no student loans!

This is an awesome find! Hopefully it will still be around when it's time for my kids to go to college. That's probably just wishful thinking on my part!

Just what the world needs, more lawyers, investment bankers and corporate raiders that get their MBA's for recommending shutting US factories and sending work to Aisian sweatshops with no concern for worker safety or environmental concerns.

Actually I've known several Harvard grads, and they were all the smartest and most qualified people I would ever meet - or at least that's what they kept telling everyone.

The trick here is actually getting *accepted* into Harvard. Kinda pointless if you don't have a stellar GPA and great SAT scores and some other awesome qualification.

Exactly dangster !!!!!!! I have a high school junior and we are looking at colleges, the key is having "the right stuff" to get accepted to any good school. My son has a 4.19 but needs some improvement on his SAT scores.

UP DATE! They upped the income level to $60000 with no family contribution! BTW, not everyone who attend Harvard is a lawyer or politician...doctors, teachers and scientists attend as well.
