I always write it on a Post-it and stick it on the PC monitor whenever I sign up for a free issue. It helps me to remember to cancel.

I always just write "Cancel" on the first bill and mail it back. Only problem is, the magazine company sometimes starts sending bills BEFORE you get the free issue!!! Most "free issue" subscriptions don't require a credit card number (except the O at Home offer that I still have not received).
