I signed up for this a few weeks ago, and they wanted my cc info for a shipping charge. I sent them an e-mail telling them it wasn't free if they were going to charge me (and it was more than $2.89 then). They sent back an e-mail and said they would send me a lipstick -- and they did. Received it yesterday. Color looks like one I can use, too. Maybe they've changed the form again.

I wrote them an email too complaining about this offer. No email response yet or free lipstick, but I just emailed them last night. I'll let you know what happens....Pat did you tell them to send you a free lipstick or did you just write to complain?
 
I just got an email from Fragrance House, and I too will be getting the lipstick free of charge, with no shipping fees. Yay!
 
We are sorry for the confusion. The free lipstick is free of shipping charge when ship together with your order. And if you are ordering over $50, there is no shipping charge at all. So if your first order is over $50, the shipping for that order and for your “free lipstick” is free. But to avoid many people from abusing the registration process, and keep registering with different email addresses, we want to charge them for shipping if they only want to register for the free lipstick. And we’re not even making money on the shipping at all. We actually lose money with the shipping and handling with the amount of $2.89.

Anyhow, thank you for your concern. And we’ll ship you your lipstick without any charges. We hope you will become our regular customer soon.

No, Mary, I didn't ask them to send me the lipstick. Believe I just said I thought their offer was misleading because on the page where you register, it clearly states that shipping is free. Then after you get all the way to the end, they requested cc info. Something like that. Good for you, tho, following up. It should be noted on the first page that there is a S/H charge if there isn't a paid order w/request. That was my point.

I fear my reputation will precede me soon! BTW, I only tell you about the ones which really do work! And in all actuality, I don't send that many.
 
Well, mysteriously I received another envelope from these folks--with not one--but TWO lipsticks in it! One is a regular Lancome and the other is the same as the first (but a different color). Don't know now if the first one just came on its own as a result of the registration process and the second was because I e-mailed them...'tis a puzzlement! Not complaining, tho.
