Free - Ringtones for Verizon Wireless customer

Verizon Wireless - Free ring tone link.

If you don't have data cable here is the instruction:
Save the ringtone to your computer, rename it to a .mid file, send it (as an attachment) to <your phone number>@vzwpix.com

Note: There will probably be a $0.25 charge for the "picture" message, but it works if you don't have a data cable. Cheaper than paying $2 per ringtone. There will also be a charge for the airtime it takes you to download the ringtone (if you do it on weekends, this doesn't apply).

shows for me in Firefox & IE

This is so cool!!!! Thanks I got about 20...hee hee

when you click on the speaker to play the ringtone, the box will pop up to open the file or save the file, click save the file, open it in my computer, and change the file type

when i click on the speaker it immediately pops up and plays in the apple quik time format and does not give me an option to save it.... :thumbs_do

it might be your browser, i am using IE, still works for me

It opens up in IE for me but I'm unable to save the file, even after right clicking it. Please explain, thanks!

i am using rhapsody, and saved it as an mp3, but like i said before, the box popped up, and it worked from there

I'm still confused. I'm getting the same problem, when I click on the icon, it opens up Quicktime in IE, and I'm unable to do anything. You mentioned using Rhapsody, I have ITunes, how would I drag it over to open up there? Or how do I save it on my desktop?

I have a Motorola E815 and I've sent the .mid file to my phone # @vzwpix.com. I get the message on my phone, but it will not allow me to do anything with the attachment. anyone know where to find out how to complete this task. If i send a picture.. i see the image and it allows me to save that. but not the ringtone.

I'm using firefox and i just click the listen button. it opens to the quicktime player.. I just right click on the screen and choose "Save source as" it saves to my computer as a .mp3 then i just rename it to .mid

Hope this helps
Thanks

thanks! Someone sent me that link before but we couldn't figure it out. :)

so just attach any .mid file and send it to my phone # at that?

then what?

How to save the files if having trouble

Open up Windows Media Player (WMP)

Click on the Tools tab

Go to Options

in Options go to the File Types tab

find .mp3 and put a check in the box

now you should be able to go to the page and click on the listen button....when it starts to play in WMP go to File and Save As.

 I picked my favorite ringtone but when I tried to listen to it I got nothing. I can't save dead air! I didn't get a box or anything. Just a blank screen. I do have IE. Now what?

I picked up a data cable off ebay a little while back, but it looks like they require you to buy the software to actually use it on my phone. (Kyocera Slider) Sending it to the phone via email wants me to subscribe to a $5.00 a month service!
