FREE Sunscreen from "Bloomington Hospital Cancer Center" *Indiana only, pick-up

http://www.bloomingtonhospital.org/OPage.asp?PageID=OTH000300

As a leading Indiana hospital, Bloomington Hospital is aware that skin cancer is not only the most common type of cancer in America, it is also one of the most preventable. In response, we are distributing 70,000 packets of free sunscreen to our communities this summer.

Use our form below to let us know how many packets you would like to distribute at community events you are taking part in this summer and we will get them ready for you to pick up at our Olcott Center for Cancer Education, or Bloomington Hospital of Orange County.

According to the National Cancer Institute, the following steps can help reduce your lifetime risk of developing skin cancer:

Sunscreens are rated in strength according to a sun protection factor (SPF), which ranges from 2 to 30 or higher. Those rated 15 to 30 block most of the sun's harmful rays.
Whenever possible, people should avoid exposure to the midday sun (from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. standard time, or from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. daylight saving time).
Keep in mind that protective clothing, such as sun hats and long sleeves, can block out the sun's harmful rays.
If you are concerned about your risk for skin cancer, you should discuss this topic with your physician. The American Cancer Society provides credible online information about self examination, risk factors and more. You can also contact the Olcott Center for Cancer Education to learn more about skin cancer, request a guest speaker for your organization, or gather educational materials to share with your family. Call 812.353.5669.

Let's work together - Bloomington Hospital has 70,000 free sunscreen packets to distribute to Orange and Monroe Counties. You could take some to your daughter's next little league game, or to your son's summer camp, or spread a message of sun safety at church. Just let us know how many you need and we will get them ready for you, and e-mail you directions for picking them up.

Please allow 24 hours for our team to process your request. Sorry, we are unable to mail or deliver sunscreen, and you must be an Indiana resident to request your free sunscreen. Limit is 250 packets per person, if you feel you need more, please contact us for special arrangements.

(Finally, something ONLY in INDIANA!!! That never happens, it's always NY, CA or PA it seems...now the good 'ole corn state gets something of it own! :) )
