When window cords are within reach, young children may become entangled and accidentally strangle.

The Window Covering Safety Council (WCSC) is dedicated to providing consumer information and educational materials on window-cord safety. We also offer consumers free retrofit devices for repairing cord hazards on older window treatments.

Free cord-repair kits can be ordered through this website or our toll-free phone line at 1-800-506-4636.

From my days of apartment living I found that some good 'ol scotch tape works well to repair broken slats in mini blinds. Hold's long enough for the manager to complete the move-out walk-through :D

scotch tape is a magic fix for many things:)
this was actually to help fix the cords to make them less of a danger to kids (who have gotten caught in the looped cords). they don't make them this way anymore (the cords no longer loop on the bottom). people w/ old blinds can use these kits to update their cords & make them safer.
