Since I'm finally graduating from Cal this month and that I don't think I can get rid of my furniture unless I just give it away for free. So if no one's going to get my stuff, I was wondering how does the Salvation Army and Goodwill work.

Do they come by and see if your item is good? and then move it for you? or you move it to them? :car:

I would give this a shot, http://www.freecycle.com. You just list what you want to get rid of and get responses from people who would like it. They will usually come and pick up the items also.

I am not sure about Salvation Army, but here is a number you can call and find out.

Your used furniture, clothing, and other household items will enable you to make a tax-deductible contribution. The sale of each donated item through The Salvation Army's thrift stores goes to support our addiction recovery programs known as Adult Rehabilitation Centers.

I used Craiglist.com free section to get rid of a sofa posted and taken within two hours.

Thrift shops wont take just any furniture, it has to be clean & in nice condition. Put it on the sidewalk with a free sign on it.

My vote:
Freecycle.org or craigslist . state in your description it must be gone today and must take all. it will be gone in a few hours! I love those sites. Keeps my house clean! and when I need something I go there as well!
