Okay, I have noticed a major disconnect with the sellers connecting the buyer and order in the sellers' order lookup databases. It makes me uncomfortable. It seems the sellers either haven't updated the SQL scripts that track new orders from Google Checkout users or don't care to for some reason. Of course you don't have to be a registered user at buy.com to use G*C to shop there, which is the cool part about it; I guess.

So what do you do if you want to track the progress of the order on the seller's site day by day ( or hour by hour )?
What I have found out follows:
1. Log on to G*C.
2. Click on the order you are checking to see the G*C Receipt.
3. Go down to Order Details and clip the seller's order number.
4. Manually point a browser window to the seller's web site.
5. Find the Order Lookup page and enter your order number, name, phone #.
6. Now you have the REAL order info but here is the "catch 22" (for buy.com anyway) scroll your view of the window to the left and a button can be seen that links you to the all important RECEIPT (if rebate needs to be applied for)!
7. LAST STEP: Print the RECEIPT and the REBATE coupon and Mail them in!

So far G*C does not have seller order number info update for timberland and ritzCamera. Maybe I should try a lookup on their sites using the G*C order number. Hmmm..

Here's a thought for ya: G*C could sell your order history to your local and state tax authorities so they can collect the sales tax you owe... OMG!!
Any old way: Happy Trials and Good Luck to Us All.

Be careful with printed receipts. Many of the rebates want originals, which will be sent in the box from the merchant. The merchant will enclose proper receipts. I have ordered things through Buy using Google checkout and submitted rebates using the physical receipts Buy.com sent. All seems to be well at this point.

Heaven forbid! How dare anyone suggest that we actually pay proper taxes?! I mean, I dont pay use tax but if something happened that suddenly required that I do it or be penalized IRS-style, its only fair.

I have bought from Buy also, and the two checkouts do not sync, but at least they have the same info and the merchandise arrives promptly.

It seems that Buy has stopped including real receipts in the boxes. Now I have to print it out. LOL

OK so I am not going crazy. I had the same problem. I tore my office apart looking for a receipt. All I had was the packaging slip, and a friend , who I assume deals w/ buy.com, informed me that they might not be accepted. So...thanks for the info Eefoops!!!

I sent a GCO receipt instead of a buy.com receipt for a rebate in Nov & got it just fine.

Buy.com doesn't put reciepts in the box, usually just a packing slip anyway.
