I am looking for a high end gaming laptop. Would like it to be a HT 3GHz+, 2Gig of RAM(can upgrade this later for cheaper probably), 60Gig HD 7200 RPM, High end graphics card (GF6800?), large screen (15.4"?). So far, my customization from Alienware and Dell have been $2,800. This includes 3yr warranty and in-home service. Anyone know of a deal/place to get what i am looking for for cheaper?

If you're looking at Dell, you can try to wait for one of the good stackable coupons. At one point, there was a $750 off any laptop $1500 or more. However, there haven't been too many good ones lately. I don't know if there's many ways to get a discount on Alienware.

I've been told for gaming hardware and customizing - Alienware is the way to go. I know a lot of people who have purchased Dell home systems and they really like what they got. I would imagine that their laptops are similar.

I know Computer Shopper magazine does reviews on that stuff quite often. Maybe their website would have some reviews on a few models to add to your list. Good luck with your continued research. I hope this helps.

Erik - Ya, i saw that one a while back... I should have borrowed a few hundred bucks and jumped all over that deal :banghead: But now that i have the money, another one needs to come back!!
From what i have read/heard, alienware seems to have the best performance, but they never send out coupons... Damnit, why cant Alienware have a Black Friday sale like everyone else LOL

Go now to the best laptop forums on the net, www.notebookforums.com

there are sooo many other options!!! Ask in notebook general. I saved $$ by building myself and have a kickass machine for hundreds less.
