should have asked this before placing my ailing computer into the hands of the Best Buy Geek Squad.

Has anyone ever dealt with them before? If so, how was your experience? Good? Bad? Were they fast, or did it take days for them to do the work?

ANY opinions would be greatly appreciated

I can't say first hand, but I do private computer work for homes, offices. I have heard many horror experiences from other computer services, whether private, or the computer stores like MicroCenter. I did work on one computer that had passed through BestBuy, an older 600MHz machine with 64MB RAM. It seemed like they let it slip through, charged the person some money and didn't even put in some more upgrades, like more memory. I'm not sure whether they did offer the upgrades, because I know that this computer was handed down in favor of a new one. Not sure how much was charged, but it seemed like nothing was done to the computer. Once I got to it, put in an extra 256MB of RAM, and a fresh install of XP and a new high-speed line for the recipient, all was well. :)
 
Yeah, with that $2 bill thing, I wouldn't trust BestBuy with my computer! :D LOL
