since i just demolished our blender (don't tell todd :secret: ) i need to replace it. it was a "vitamix :money: drinkmaster" (yeah, i know he's gonna kill me IF he finds out ;))

so i'd prefer to replace it with the same model, but realistically i need to find something in the $100 range, rather than the $400 range! i'm hoping that if he finds out i trashed it AFTER i replace it with a GREAT DEAL on a good quality blender, he won't be as upset!! Suggestions and deals anyone??:help:

1. Tell the truth - everything wears out, or whatever happened to it!

2. Look everywhere, Froogle, Overstock, e-Bay, amazon, or check in your local newspaper ads. Last resort (besides just telling him) is to go to Estate sales. Good luck!

3. Tell the truth! (Add a little humor...) :o

Yea, that's what I was thinking...Call the company on Monday and see if the can repair or replace it. Some companies are very generous with warrenties or repairs...
All they can say is NO.
Don't tell you hubby and go buy a new outfit while you're at it!! You deserve it!!!
Good Luck

i'll call monday and see what they say. i put ice in the blender (without looking first), then drink mix, then the rubber cap. i couldn't find the plastic insert for the rubber cap on top, so i covered it with my hand. after a few seconds of blending, i noticed it was making a funny sound. then i noticed it wasn't really chopping the ice... so i poured it all out and found the plastic insert was down under the ice. oops! it smelled hot and the base doesn't spin anymore.
i also see it's the "drink machine" not the drinkmaster... there's a used one on ebay, so i'll be bidding on that- since really all i need is the motor/base part. keep your fingers crossed for me, please!!!
i'll call the company monday, regardless (when todd's at work, of course :p)

and thanks, wildbanchee... i may just take your advice... a new dress and shoes would make all this nonsense seem so much easier ;)

That's a whole lotta $ for a blender. I hope the company can repair/replace it for you.

alright, so he came home from work and i fed him a nice meal and fessed up. after the initial "HOW ON EARTH CAN YOU BLOW UP A BLENDER?" reaction, he said it would be okay and we'll settle for a cheap one until we can afford to get another nice one (this one had been a gift in the first place).
sometimes i wonder how i got so lucky :)

btw, i still think i deserve a new outfit ;)

You definetly deserve a new outfit!!! Our hubbies do the same kind of work and we deserve it!!! In many ways we are so lucky, but their jobs are so stressfull and the hours are not easy on the family!!!

I still think you should call the company tomorrow and see what they say.
