The 5300 system is awesome, I have it, unfortuntely I paid $179.99, but still recommended.
 
i don't think i can use that with a laptop can i? as i don't have a RCA-type Sound out port.. just a headphone jack.

be nice on my tv, but they seem to be for computer systems.

Got mine plugged into the headphone jack, works fine.

It'll work on your tv if you have a headphone jack on there.

Yeah, it'll work fine out of the headphone jack on your laptop.
 
ok but headphone jacks are usually 2.1 aren't they?

so if im going to do it that way i shouldn't get anything above 2.1 as it would be a waste of money for an option i couldn't make use of?

looks like buy.com raised the price to $24.07 and dropped free shipping.
ordering from amazon.com may be another option, not sure whose shipping
is lower.
