Do you deck out for Halloween? What kind of decorations do you use?
I only ask because I was cruising the sale items on potterybarn.com and nothing says "elegant, but spooky" like a glittered skull. lol

And please tell me that you can see the picture (Butty)!!!!

A red "x"...dang!
LOL
Just joking.
I used to decorate for Halloween, but my stuff got all smashed up. We get a lot of teenagers around here. Amber and I trick-or-treat by her school which is in another city.

I dunno K-ma, I find the glitter skulls a little too ostentatious. We much prefer our more pedestrian sequinned skulls at Halloween.......:rofl::bat:

Ah - you had me for a second with the red x! :boink:
Why on earth did you let those teenagers in your house for? lol ;)
My Mom always took me in town to tick or treat (which was looked down on for some reason). One year she told me to grab a jacket and I grabbed my school jacket. She was like, "ok, I hope you dont get cold..." lol

Well, then these place setting cards for a formal dinner party would be out of the question:

Candy skulls are a big deal in Mexico for Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead).

We always had a big party in spanish calss in high school for Day of the Dead. I cant remember what it is called, but there was some kind of sweet bread that had something in it - and if you got it you won a prize.....I have the right holiday right?

Nope - I dont. I was thinking of Three Kings’ Day (Dίa de los Santos Reyes), where a small doll is baked inside of the bread and whoever receives the piece with the doll must host a party on February 2, Candlemas Day.

The bread during Day of the Dead is Pan de muerto - which is a sphere shape with crossed pieces of bread to look like a skull.

Both are equally yummy though - that I do remember!

I used to completely deck out the house for Halloween...... now since I run a small childcare center out of my home it is out of the question. I am guessing that walking by skeletons, bloody corpses and monsters on the way in everyday might have a adverse effect on the tiny tots ... hehehehhe
