Not to nitpick but most of us will have to pay $10+ dollars in tax so it's not really $104.99 out the door. Closer to $115-$120. Still a good deal though. I think I'll buy one. I should have a coupon around here I can use with it.

Home depot now says not available online? Right in the middle of my order!
 
Office Depot stock

I was able to place an order of 1 last night and noticed there are two entries for this at OD. the second one seemed to be consistently sold out whereas the first one was able to go through although intermittently it would tell you it was out of stock. Oh well, $220.88 charged to my credit card so it better ship.
Also in my humble opinion, when I saw the pcconnection alternative I was attracted to the no tax incentive but realized I'd rather pay the extra $11.88 difference for the convenience of having one large rebate through OD to which I trust more than pcconnection's multiple rebates. BTW, anyone have any experience with pcconnection's rebates? They seemto have good prices but I don't want to go through a tigerdirect.com's rebate like experience ever again.
 
Yes, they do have two that seem exactly the same. Their is only a slight difference on the dimensions, but all specs seem to be the same:

113132 HU-196D
113062 HC-194D

They do seem to come and go as far as availability, but I was finally able to get one of them.
Great value for a monitor with great specs and good performance, though construction may be lightweight and may lack some features (such as tilt, rotate, lift).

The PriceGrabber reviews are misleading. They are reviewing a different model than the one on sale at OD and PCConnection. Disregard those reviews.

The current model is the 194D while the PriceGrabber reviews are for the 196D.

I've got the 194D and it is definetly square shaped with flat sides. No rounded case. It looks sleek, slick, and utterly contemporary.

Case is sturdy, feels very substantial. Ths is one classy looking, feeling, and performing monitor.

BTW, one of the reviewers denegraded the 196D 'cause it had 6bit color. What the heck is 6bit color? What spec is that?

If you're having problems with the rebate for the Hanns-g monitor purchased from Office Depot, here is the solution:

ISSUE
It has come to our attention that the vendor, Wintergreen Systems, has not honored commitment to pay on several mail-in-savings (MIS) on the following products sold in Q3 and Q4 2006:

SOLUTION
To assist you with customers that are coming directly to the stores to get their money, we have established a protocol using Young America (Office Depot’s rebate house) to help facilitate processing and quick distribution of funds:

- The store or customer must contact Young America by phone at 877-470-3621 or email: odstorerebatesyoung-america.com and reference offer # OD4802278 for assistance on processing these redemptions.

- NOTE: Young America has been instructed to immediately process the check.

Credit goes to the forum @ **********.net
