Would this be something you would want for yourself or a child or would you stay away from walmart and go to a higher priced salon?

I cut my own hair most of the time. If you really wanted a decent cut at an excellent rate, find yourself a beauty college and have them cut your hair. Usually it is only a buck or two and the teacher (who is certified) has to approve all cuts.

Doesn't anyone that cuts hair for a business have to have a license? So I think it would be a wise, low budget decision. But so wouldn't Super Cuts, etc. if you have any of those in your area. They are all trained and licensed, no?

No matter what kind of salon you work in, you are suppose to have a Cosmetologist license. Even a shampoo assistant is suppose to have the same license as a hairstylist.

But :bootyshake: just because you are licensed doesn't make you good! :pound:

It was always uneven when I had it done at a salon, so I cut it myself for years...
now that it's past my waist I have a friend cut it. Why pay to have it messed up when you can get that for free :)

I'd do it for my kids...but not me...:noidea:

I cut the boys hair by myself. Invested in a $15 clipper and while there is some differenct between when I do it and when I have it done (every third time or so)...it's not much.

I'll never go to a Supercuts or cheapy place again. Every couple years I get cheap and try it and 90% of the time I regret it. Even for the boys. At the least go to a Regis..they're not too expensive and I've always been satisfied w/the skill.

I needed a trim badly a few months ago and went to wally world instead of my regular guy that cuts my hair...the woman did a great job and did exactly what I asked her to... did ask a friend who I know goes there and she told me who she used and that the lady she uses looked to be in her early 40's and had been cutting hair for 15 years...I was happy with it and I am super picky about my hair

but I have read online some horror stories about wally world haircuts...I think its the person...not the place...

When I was younger I got my haircut at department store called TSS. I'm sure none of you remember it.

Anyway, I don't think I could bring myself or my kids to get a haircut there, although I didn't know that even existed in Walmart, nor have I been to Walmart more than 5 times in my life. :blushing:

Personally I'd rather go to SuperCuts or one of the places like that, but I guess if it's THAT much cheaper and the "stylists" look normal, I might give it a try.

Personally I lament the passing of the BARBER SHOP.

We've got Bucky the Barber here in town. I'll go to him once or twice a year when I am too lazy to do my own. He does such a good job I tip him 30% of the cost of the cut.
