I am looking for a hard disk drive partition manager, preferably a free one. Any ideas? Thanks!

Free...

I think maxtor comes with a CD that has it...
Try that?

Its called MaxBlast.

The last time I used Partition Magic to change (not create) my partitions, I lost all my data, I will never try to do that again ever. Why can't you use FDISK?

There's also one on the Seagate CD that isn't bad.

I looked at MaxBlast (was able to download it at Maxtor's Web site), but it destroys any data on the partition. Hmm...I'll keep looking. Thanks!

norton has one too. its a partition magic engine??

i've used partition magic 8 before and it does split and combine partitions without loss of data. unfortunately its not free.
