My wife and I are needing a new washer and dryer. We tried the new Whirlpool Cabrio but found that they do not clean clothes well and apparently leave a residue that causes the exit vent in the dryer to turn black after a little use. We now just got a pair from Sears (Kenmore - also by Whirlpool), but we are questioning the quality as the dryer makes a noise like there's a bump in the road - weird!

We are starting to think you have to buy foreign to get a quality built product as "Made in USA" seems to mean what "Made in Japan" did back in the 60's - how sad.

Anyway does anyone here have experience with the LG washers and dryers? I've heard good things about them and we may be trying them. Thanks for you input!

(L)ife's (G)ood...

LG is a very good company making headway in the US market. They have received very good ratings from Consumer Reports.

LG is available at Home Depot.

A neat feature for their washers is that they are built with an internal generator so that the spin of the tub creates electricity for the washer (cutting down your overall electric use).

LG is very big in cell phones and other electronics.

(And 'no' - I don't work for or own stock in LG).

I have had a GE washer and dryer for 8 years now and have never had a problem with either of them. Just a brand you might want to check into.

Try Roper Washers and Dryers (generic Whirlpool ). I bought a set in 1982, used them for 11 years and passed on to sister. Still going good (aside from replaceing start button on dryer), no problems.
