I have a PRAISE for a internet order company. I'm going to stick it here, but feel free to move it to where you think it is appropriate.
Holy Cow! We just saved $600 by repairing our cook top by ourselves!
On Monday, our cooktop for our Range cracked. I freaked out because my mother had to do a similar repair two years ago and it cost her $715. After a conversation with my mom about how the repairman repaired it, I began to wonder if we could do it ourselves. I was encourage by bobvilla.com (not the real site reference that was intended yet, but it was very helpful) where I found similar people who had repaired their glass on their cooktops by themselves.
So I started to look for parts on the internet. After reviewing the online BBB and price comparisons, I settled on ordering for www.appliancepartspros.com. I ordered the parts on Monday late in the evening. The cooktop was about $150 including shipping (which was only $7). We received our order yesterday (Wednesday- 2 days!!!) around lunchtime. All the right parts arrived and they all arrived in perfect condition- pretty good considering the cooktop is a sheet of glass. It took my husband (My husband rocks!) and me 45 minutes to install it tonight and IT WORKS!
So, if something similar happens to you and you think that you can fix it yourself, I would highly recommend trying and ordering the parts from this site.
The only downside that I could see for a spoofee member is that I couldn't find any online discount codes.
Yippeee!!! I'm so pleased right now!
