There's a reason the Deskstar series earned the nickname Deathstar - these drives are so hit and miss. I've had one go for years - it's still chugging along actually. But I've had nearly a half dozen crap out after only months of operation. Their new SATA II drives are supposedly better - we'll see because for the price I can't turn that down.
