The mister,my MIL and i went thrift shopping today.I got some really cool stuff. At the first GW,the hubby and i both got London Fog coats for $5.00 @.Mine was a longer coat, while his was a jacket.Nice condition. Then i found a Guess leather purse and another tan purse for $3.00 @.At the second GW store,i found a Burberry purse,a Nine West wallet and.....a complete Dell desktop computer for $149.It works great.Just wondering if anyone else likes to shop at thrift stores.I love saving a buck or two.:yesnod:

I am on the Goodwill e-mail list. They sent coupons periodically. They sent me a coupon good for this weekend for 30% off any one item. (they also had the same coupons in the donation area). I like Goodwill because you can try on the clothes-our Salvation Army does not have fitting rooms. Also, Target donates a lot of their excess/clearance merchandise and you can always get either clothing or misc. items with tags on at a good price.

My apartment manager says she shops Goodwill and scored a Coach purse. I kind of shrugged it off, thinking she was full of *something*, but maybe I need to give her more credit.

Now I want to go to Goodwill!

I miss the Goodwill stores. We only have Deseret Industries, but the quality is so much lower there than at Goodwill.

I love thrift stores. When I worked in retail, i had a friend who taught me a great appreciation for them. I glad you found some good items in great condition.

a person i worked with used to work at GW, he told me that the best time to shop at GW is on Tuesdays bc thats when all the goodies, like coach, chanel, and high end stuff get stocked up in the store.

I know Morrie.I just got lucky yesterday. But i am glad i am not the only one who shops at GW.:yesnod:

I shop a bout once a month but haven't bought anything for more than a year. I liked it when there was a guarantee on the stuff & you could bring it back within a month or so.

Actually the best stuff is on their auction site:

wow I can't thank you enough for showing this,, I didn't even know they had this online!! Its awesome!! I have bid and won alot of items that were new or almost new for xmas and saved a ton of money!! Again, thank you so much for the link!!

We have a local thrift shop called Pennywise. All there clothes are $2 per piece, there books are .25 for paper backs and .50 for hard backs. Over the past few years, my wife and I have bought a ton of stuff from them.

I work for some thrift shops. GW probably makes a lot. One shop I work for makes $20k per year profit. Another does $100k profit. One did $400k one year. Some of the shops give you money if you need it.

Just a heads up... be sure to check the shipping and handling. I got a "great" deal on a cinderella doll... 5.00,,, however they charged me 11.50 in shipping and handeling. total= 16.50.. I could've bought it at Walmart for 9.00.
I started checking all the shipping and handling charges before I bid...it's amazing what Goodwill charges!
