Hmm I was thinking of a project but I have no clue how to go on about doin it.

I wanted to get one of those cheap BLUETOOTH USB ports, crack it open and mess with the programming on the CMOS of the chip...

My project idea is:

communicate with the bluetooth device.
analyze the security of the bluetooth link.

Yes I know it would be recognized if this was plugged in, but what if the bluetooth USB was not plugged in and powered by an external battery source?

maybe it might be harder to understand what im writing. :banghead: not easy to explain.

but think of

[ laptop + bluetooth ] ' think of this as a controller

[ bluetooth device + LED light] ' think of this as a receiver?

obviously the controller is powered by laptop battery. but i want to modify the bluetooth usb to run off external batter, maybe AA battery?

Eventually I want the laptop be able to control the LED light going on and off.

anyone know any resources or can recommend any books regarding this?

many thanks.
