Thanks Emma, this worked very well. I'm surprised to see some other comments trying to fame an entire country's population as scammers. Don't forget that the CEO of Google and Microsoft are from India. And above all his website is using Paypal payment gateway, so you don't have to give him your card details directly.
 
If you read around on the site it says that they have no idea how long your email address will last and reviews state the university will close it without warning. Despite being a 'real' .edu email address none of their offerings work for all student discounts.

Really? Aren't there enough deals already without resorting to deception?
 
No there are not enough deals, also why do get students discount on everything everywhere all of the time and normal people have to wait for that sale that happens once per year
 
Some places have wised up and will ask for your transcript or copy of a schedule or some documentation. I don’t know if Amazon will ask that for the free trial, but they will ask once you start paying them.
 
I have an edu email and I assure you it doesn’t automatically get you discounts. Very often you have to verify the institution, or prove your age or school year if it’s a student-only discount. And very often you have to produce an ID or paystub. There’s even a ID verification site many stores are now using and it’s a huge pain. I’ve struggled to keep a discount on an online news subscription that I use for work. I’ve had to send a copy of my ID, then produce a paystub, then talk to customer support. Now that I know people are selling these addresses for the sole purpose of cheating, I see why it’s gotten tougher to get educator discounts when it ought to be much simpler.
