Another great deal penpen :)

Why does the rebate say $30 in the promotion name and next to Reward it says $40? Just curious about that.

Needed another hard drive, so I was thinking about getting the special in the ad. Western Digital 200GB. Good drive? I mainly buy from Maxtor only but never tried out WD myself.

Ah man, just checked. It doesn't have it anymore. OOS?

Calendar Creator 2005 FREE AFTER MIR

OMX has Calendar Creator 2005 FREE AFTER MIR

$19.99 - $4.99 instant rebate - $15 mail-in rebate* = $0

No upgrade rebate required. :bigok:

Apparently, this deal could only be purchased at in-store local OMX

yeah, it could be. they've had it available for online sales since last night after midnight (?, not sure of the hour, but it was late), & i was able to add it to my shopping cart then, but not anymore, so it could be sold out by now. sorry greyknight17. you could give it a shot & see if they still have it in your local OM stores, but i would think this one could be sold out in store too =(

ya know, i've never had a western digital either, but i hear they're ok, however there may better companies with longer warranties on their HD's, like seagate. not a terribly techie person, tho, so i'll leave the answer to that Q up to someone who is. =)

Long Time Reader, 1st time poster, I picked one up at the OfficeMax in white Plains this evening, thanks for the headsup, they have about 50 scanners in stock as of Sunday evening....

Happy Hunting

I just applied for the rebate at maxmyrebates.com and it says 'Rebate Reware = $40' then it says $30 rebate. My submission confirmation came back saying that it was a $30 rebate. So for anyone who has applied for the rebate online you better contact maxmyrebates.com to get it straightened out. If they get enough emails maybe they can figure it out.

verified rebate amount

I just called Officemax rebate center and they confirmed that the rebate amount is in fact $40. They told me to submit and the rebate amount of $40 will be refunded. :)

PS My scanner should be delivered by the 24th :D

Thanks to a call made to OMX rebate center (1-877-681-2362), the error was fixed now. The correct rebate amount is $40.00 as shown in my rebate status page.

Relieved now. :32:

Anyone know if this scanner is worth going through the hassle of a rebate? I'm just looking for something decent.

For $5 an emergency backup or good for a kids room only. Only 1200 dpi res.

I never do OM rebates unless I really need the item. They are the worst @ falsely denying rebates even after you are meticulous & neat. Impossible to get thru on phone. Weeks to get email reply. Tell you to resubmit & you still get nothing. Never do OM rebate unless you really need item.

Better scanners are often $20-30 after rebate & well worth the difference. My advice: wait for Staples to have a good rebate.

If you do buy this OM, be sure to update the firmware.

It works ok for what I needed...scanning my old crappy photos at 600bpi:

For 5 bucks- good luck finding a better scanner. Heck, a 8.5x11 1200 dpi scan takes a couple minutes on this thing, I can't imagine a higher resolution scanner's speed. It must be terrible.

Great scanner for my needs.

OMX rebates have been working good to me. No bad experience so far.

I installed the HP ScanJet 2400 Flatbed Scanner yesterday. Did some test scans. Fine scanned images. Great scanner for my needs. 1200dpi scanner was good enough to me.

:D

striider, your Jeep looked great in the picture. If you plan to sell your Jeep, let me know.

:)

Decided to order it yesterday, but they're backorderd. They ended up shipping the markers I added to get the free shipping (which I received today) but they canceled my order for the scanner. Oh well...

Well, thanks...but it looks a bit more burly and beat up these days. I take it all over Colorado and beat the snot out of it sometimes.
