I felt the EARTH move under my bed!

Any one else feel the Earthquake this morning?

(Just what were you thinking the topic was going to be about?)

I did... I woke up because my bed actually HOPPED. Then the mattress was shaking and I thought my daughter was climbing into bed with me (my hubby is on a business trip). So... when I finally figured out that it wasn't her, I sat up and could hear my things clinking on my vanity tray and thought to myself, I guess we're having an Earthquake.

I got back to sleep within 10 minutes. Our house didn't fall down and I didn't hear any sirens so I figured all was okay around here.

I was making coffee when the quake started, and for a minute i stood staring at the coffeemaker cause i thought it was going to blow up or something, then the pans in the cabinet starting pinging together, so thats when i fugured out it was a quake, ....very rare in this part of the country. A unique experience, none the less.

Did you check for Dehawk tracks in the dust bunnies under your bed?

That's some percolator you got there.

I feel the ground shake sometimes when the 8th Ave subway goes past. I felt something when the guy-on-the-bike blew up the bomb a few weeks ago in Times Square too.

yeah...uh huh....I always have a quaking under my matress, :caked:

I'm in California & that wasn't much of a shake. You should see us, we get near 7.0

we had an earthquake here once, it was small, I was in the middle of buying boutiqe (sp) clothing for my kids and I was checking out, and about the time the lady got done ringing me up, the earthquake hit, which in VA that is EXTREMELY rare, she said "What was that" LOL, without missing a beat I said, God is trying to tell me I am spending too much money! LOL

I live in Iowa, and we felt the quake, too. The bed was wiggling and the door on the shower was vibrating loud enough for me to hear. I thought I was nuts, until the next morning I saw on the news that there definately had been a quake.

Where was the quake?

It was centered somewhere "down south" (that is according to us Chicago people) along the IL/IN border. I think it was a 5.2. I guess a building in Kentucky lost a lot of bricks because of it, but that was the most damage that occurred.
