I am very worried about my 76 year old mother. Her and my dad live in Michigan. They aren't exactly typical senior citizens. They travel to Texas every winter, and come back in the first week of April. They do their own yard work and sometimes own landscaping. My mom,if you were to look at her,you wouldn't believe she will be 76.But she has some health issues. Her and i both have Degenerative Disc Diseease and Arthritis in our necks. She has a condition where her heart races so fast, that she has to go to the ER to have her heart stopped, then restarted.About a month ago,as i made my daily call to her,i had asked her how she was feeling. She sounded a little blue when she told me she was having problems walking, and her hands were becoming numb.I asked her straight out if she was having a stroke. She assured me that she wasn't because she had been to the doctor who had assured her it wasn't heart related or even a stroke.I called her last night, because she told me on Friday, she was having her MRI yesterday. She said she was having an MRI of her head and neck.I am now REALLY begining to worry. She said her doctor was looking at three things: a brain tumor, a stroke,or all of this is coming from her neck.I hope and pray for the last one...its just her neck. So,please,i ask for some prayers for her.She is my best friend in the world.Without her,my life would be empty.Thank you all.

Thank you,i really need it.:worry:

I'll be 50 on the 27th. I had a stroke when I was 47. It wasn't a "mini", I had a brain bleed. It happened so fast. I felt a sharp, stabbing pain in the back of my head but it passed in a matter of seconds. Then I tried to stand up and my left side went limp. I was home alone at the time and nowhere near the phone so I stumbled out the front door and my neighbors called 911. I spent a month in the hospital and 4 months of outpatient therapy. While in the hospital, they did a cat scan and MRI. The MRI found the bleed. They did further testing - ultrasound of the neck and heart and my stroke wasn't due to plaque build up anywhere. It just happened. I still suffer from weakness on my left side and my short-term memory is shot. It takes me so long to type and I have to constantly think about what I want to type or say. I hope your mom is doing better and my thoughts and prayers are with your family. My mom is 77 and suffering from Alzheimer's and that's tough to deal with too, but I wish the best for your Mom. Life is too short. God Bless!

Please know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. My parents are in their 80's so I know that "scary" feeling we carry around. Apple
