Okay, sorry to prey on your computer expertise, but I think I've really fumbled this all up.

I wanted to download the shows from my local station, but they were only available in podcasts. So, as instructed, I download iTunes, and have been happily downloading the shows I wanted. I also subscribed (free, of course) to the programs so they will keep coming.

So I tried to put them on a cd, because I don't have an ipod, and need stuff I can listen to in the car. But when I went to get them, they are only 1 KB, and have the ram extension, RealPlayer Presentation.

I use Roxio, which is not even recognizing the 1 KB !!!!

What can I do?!?!? Am I just plain scr....... ?

Thanks so much if anyone knows anything.

oops I forgot

Forgot to say I have downloaded Wav2mp3 and Xilosoft CDRipper and Juice, and none of them work with this format either!
Thanks if anyone knows about this new format (well, new to me that is!

The 1Kb file is just a pointer to the actual file on your computer. Beyond that, I have never used a podcast and wouldn't know if it needed to be converted before burning to CD. I did find a couple of links on the Internet that might help you out:

i think you are confusing RealPlayer with iTunes. the realplayer extension is .ram, it is a very small file (1 kb) that is downloaded as a file on your computer to receive streams (live internet audio that is not stored on your computer) of music or whatever sounds. it is supposed to be discarded after you are done listening. nothing from realplayer is stored on your computer. i dont care much for realplayer, i cant even understand why this company still exists other than to make you download their annoying software that always reminds you to upgrade.

podcasts, however, is downloaded audio, through iTunes or another company and is an actual file that is downloaded onto your computer and you can listen to it anytime from your computer or ipod.

you must figure out what your subscription is in, is it in iTunes (Apple) or RealPlayer (Real)?
