ideas about a good way to send emails to a large group of people?

I am looking for a way to efficiently send a weekly email to a group of about 100 students. I am the faculty advisor for the Key Club at the school where I teach. It's a club that does community service projects. I'd been using hotmail and up until January it let me send messages to 50 people at a time, so I could reach the whole group in 2 emails. Then, all of a sudden, the account was blocked from sending messages. I contacted customer support and they told me it was to prevent sending spam, and now it's unblocked but it only lets me send messages to 10 people at a time, so it would take quite a while to get an email out to all 100 students.

Does anybody have any ideas about something else I could use instead?

I thought about using a private facebook group, but I can't access facebook at school.
 
Does the school have an IT department that can set you up an account and create a "group" for you?
 
No. This is a public school system in east TN. The "IT department" is also the computer teacher/girls basketball coach, so we're pretty much on our own when it comes to technology. He just fixes stuff when it is severely broken.
 
The yahoo group idea made me think to check if hotmail has groups... and they do! So I'm gonna try that. But if anybody else has ideas, please share, in case the hotmail or yahoo groups don't work out.
