Invisible Mode

I was looking at my options and noticed there is an option to use Invisible Mode. Why does Spoofee have this option?
It seams like a way to let people logged on lurkers.
For a community to allow people to sneak in and out of forums and post comments, it just seems kind of strange.

This mode is the same as the 'guest' mode (not being logged on)...a person just scanning the threads. Only difference is they can post, but their posts still show up with accountability (not invisible).

Even though a user is invisible Moderators and Admins can still see if they are online or not. Some people prefer to not show up on the active user list.
