My two cents: I have had 2 Roombas (500 series), which are amazing, but they continually have cleaning head module brush failures. One will still brush, but not vacuum, and the other will vacuum but not brush. Between the 2, they do the job. They've had lots of parts replaced under warranty.
If you buy a remanufactured/refurb, I recommend using it as frequently as possible so you can accelerate what is going to go wrong with it while you are still within the 90 day warranty.
