Starting in May, the Treasury will begin sending economic stimulus payments to more than 130 million households. To receive a payment, taxpayers must have a valid Social Security number, $3,000 of income and file a 2007 federal tax return. IRS will take care of the rest. Eligible people will receive up to $600 ($1,200 for married couples), and parents will receive an additional $300 for each eligible child younger than 17. Millions of retirees, disabled veterans and low-wage workers who usually are exempt from filing a tax return must do so this year in order to receive a stimulus payment.

I found this very useful to see what, if anything, our family may qualify for. (It only took me about 1 minute. ;) )

Thanks for the post! Most people are expecting the $600 for being an adult but it states UP TO $600...now I know not to expect the full amount.

Tomorrow for us too.... I think we are going to do some landscaping with this protion of our return! I have been waiting 2 1/2 years to get this done!
 
Mine is due tomorrow also. And my gas tank has already taken claims to it! At least the majority of it or so it seems.
 
My poor 18 year old son made just under $3000 so he won't be getting one :( :28:

the irs told me it can take 5 to 10 weeks to get rebate back ????
 
I am confused now it says up to $600 married up to $1200
 
That kinda sucks we are getting less than we should be getting...but
some is better than none...
 
The key words are UP TO $600 or $1200 if married. A single parent household with two kids would have to earn $60,000 to get the full $600 for adult and $300 for each child. I find that to be funny! $60,000 is a lot of money for a single parent these days, almost $1200 a week! They would have to make right at $29 an hour! Am I just living in the wrong state or what?
