Is anyone having an issue w/ being infected by a virus/Trojan after using Spoofee?

I was just curious if any other members were having issues with being infected by a virus/Trojan after using Spoofee. I've had two of my work laptops infected; the second of which was a brand new laptop where I had only used it for an hour during which a portion of that time was spent on Spoofee.com. I did not use email during that time. Thanks.

:wavey: I saw this and ran Malwarebytes and Norton just to see and came up clean, these were quick scans but I do full scans once a week just to be safe

Hi Mic. I haven't had any problems.

Even though your laptop may be brand new, unless it came from a local small OEM shop (i.e. not HP, Dell, Lenovo, etc.) then all of the updates are NOT installed, including anti-virus or Microsoft ones. I have seen some of those computers be 3-4 months out of date because they sit on warehouse shelves. You don't have to even surf the Web at all to get infected...all you need to do is have your computer connected to the Internet. Back in 2004 the SANS Internet Storm Center figured that an unpatched machine only needed to be on the Internet (not surfing, not browsing, just simply connected) for 15-25 minutes before it becomes infected. I can't imagine it is much better now.

If you need help getting the infection off, let me know.

I got all sorts of viruses and malware for the brief time when I used a cat avatar. Since I lost the cat...no problems.

Translation: "Next time buy your computer from me."

:hmmmm: Aren't Trojan's supposed to prevent a virus? :noidea:
