Heather and I have been married for nearly 11 years :loving:, and we are still using the same bath towels given to us as wedding gifts way back when. Needless to say, they are nearly threadbare. I would like to get some new towels and am needing suggestions.

Heather likes the huge ones, but I really don't. I'm more of a 24x48 guy whereas she is a 30x56 gal. I've been looking at some of the towels at CottonFruit.com and am not averse to getting a bunch at one time.

What are good weights for towels? Anyone have a favorite brand?

Thanks!

These are my favorite towels. 22 Colors to chose from!

And now the towels are regular price. DOH! Thanks.

That's funny Spaz! I was just doing laundry and looking at some "old" towels we have. They are from JC Penney and we got them about 13 years ago. Of course they're warn out now, mostly along the edges. But we've gone through all kinds of towels since then that didn't last nearly as long and ended up in worse shape. AND YET....I never thought to go back to Penney's to buy new ones. I can't remember the actual brand name of them all, but I do specifically remember buying Fuit of the Loom towels which I expected would be great. You know, being cotton experts and all. But they were horrible! Hardly lasted at all.

My next buy (I like to buy them all at once too-I like them to all match for each bathroom) will probably be Kohl's. When they have they're big sale and I have a coupon I've seen them go pretty low. And I have beach towels I got there that have held up pretty good too.

Good luck!

Hey Spaz.. i grew up in the business and HATE to buy linens b/c i used to get them for FREE! Fieldcrest Royal Velvet is plush and absorbant and very reasonably priced. In fact I have mine for over 20 yrs and still good condition! I just had to break down and buy sheets (for the first time since 1992 since I also used to get those free) and thankfully we have a bargain channel radio program here in the Jacksonville FL area. Bought 2 sets of 400 ct Egyptian cotton sheets w/ 4 pillowcases for $31.00.. Reg price is like $70 a set!
Also go to BB&B for a $5.00 of $20.00 certificate as you can get really good deals there or if you have a Marshalls nearby they carry the Fieldcrest Royal Velvet dirt cheap. Good quality w/out the high prices.!

JCPenney (the top of the line ones) really are the best.

I think they are having their home sale now... I bought ours 9 years ago (time for new towels for me too I guess) when they were B1G1Free.

try overstock.com they should have something they usually do.

I am not sure where I bought our worn towels (we've had them for years) but they are my favorites. I thought I'd get new ones, found some soft, fluffy ones at Wal-Mart for $8 or $9 each and figured I'd give them a whirl ~ yes, they are absorbent and soft which were my main concerns, but they look horrible after washing ~ those little "pills" or "piles" whatever they are called are all over them, and I only wash them with other towels. To me, that's worse than being threadbare, lol, so I've yet to toss the old ones
