We have a lot of junk, I mean items we don't use around our house that we will probably donate to charity. What programs are out there to get the fair market value for items donated? I thought if I started now, I would probably have a fair amount of items to claim by end year.

I found a program called "Its Deductible" by Intuit which costs $19.95. Are there any programs which are free or cheaper - not that $20 will break me, but there are a few items I want to get rid of now and I don't want to wait to buy the program, wait for it to ship then get rid of stuff.

I've heard good things about It's Deductible. H&R Block (makers of TaxCut) also offer DeductionPro 2004 for $19.95. Go to http://www.taxcut.com/ and click on the "More Info" link under DeductionPro. I think you'd do well with either program.

Good luck! Tell us what you think of the software. I've always wondered about both "It's Deductible" and DeductionPro but have never purchased.

I've used the It's Deductible software and it works great. It normally is an instant download from their website. :)

I dont get it, It's all deductable if you get the reciet Right? or is it a just a tracking thing?

I donate Computer salvage several times a year. They give you a blank reciet and the Tax Guru does his thing.
