Too good to Be TRUE!

Well, I thought this would have been a great idea, you see I'm retired and I've always wanted to do a flying vacation - especially when I saw where True Blue flew. They really go to a lot of nice places - especially some great international ones, like those island in the Caribbean, Cancun, and also Costa Rica, Columbia and Aruba - beautiful places to visit and tour.

But if you read the fine print, international taxes and fees aren't included, only domestic. Well I thought that still isn't that bad, then they said you had to make your own reservations at least three days ahead of time, you just couldn't show up to see if they had an open seat. And we're so darn close to that time period already.

So I thought I'd take a look at a proposed trip that I would take - I'd see if there were any available seats left on the trips that I wanted - places that I would have liked to go, and the times that I wanted - and guess what I kept getting -

"THERE ARE NO FLIGHTS AVAILABLE":mad::mad:

Over and over - "THERE ARE NO FLIGHTS AVAILABLE"

and over and over - "THERE ARE NO FLIGHTS AVAILABLE"

and again and again: "THERE ARE NO FLIGHTS AVAILABLE"

it was downright frustrating!!!

And aggravating. "THERE ARE NO FLIGHTS AVAILABLE"

I kept searching and searching - dates flew by quicker then my dog chasing a chipmunk in the backyard - but I kept getting that dreaded red message - "THERE ARE NO FLIGHTS AVAILABLE"

What was going on?

Week after week I kept changing my dates, day after day. Finally I was into mid-October. And things got a bit brighter, I finally got to a Sunday, October 17th I think it was, and they said they had an open flight. Hooray! but wait, the deal ended on October 7th. That does me no good.

So I switched my dates around. Changed my travel plans and tried again. And Guess what?

Hey, you're absolutely correct, I got: "THERE ARE NO FLIGHTS AVAILABLE"

So, True Blue is too good to be TRUE!

That is unless you want to visit their armpits of the areas they fly to; face it, you're not going to get any flights to their choicest locations. They were gone weeks, if not months ago.

This deal will get you to back alleys of the southwest, armpits of the midwest, earwax caves of the northeast, and those scenic dreaded nostrils of the northwest. That's about it. Forget about America's beauty places, forget about the caribbean, forget about the jewels of Central America. Why? "THERE ARE NO FLIGHTS AVAILABLE"

I just did a bunch of virtual flight setups and encountered nothing but success. My picks, - I fly out of Boston and chose, non stops to Denver, Phoenix, Burbank (Bob Hope airport is my preference when flying into LA), Seattle, and Austin. All available with several convenient non stops daily. I've no interest in the Caribbean so didn't try those. I did not encounter a single instance of " no flights available"
.
..
What is so hard about the 3 day in advance booking requirement. The flight window begins on Sept 7th, today is Aug. 18th. Plenty of time to book.

This is a stupendous deal. I'm jumping on. Why you can use it to go on day trips. Fly to DC for the day, to NYC, to Tampa, Chicago and on and on. I'm a Southwest frequent flyer and know nothing about the nuances of Jet Blue. Looks like its time to learn.

OK, just found a 'no flights available'
.
.
Boston to Reagan Int. on Sept 12 - the day of the huge anti Obama protest rally. No flights, totally sold out.
.
.
However there are plenty of slots to Dulles, which will require a short bus ride to the metro then the subway ride into town. Also slots available to Baltimore which is a shuttle bus ride to DC too.
..

This rally is going to be a major event and looks like using Jet Blue's program is going to make it reasonable to get in and out of DC. A day trip, nice.
