Excited about celebrating 50 years of Barbie®? Mattel is now accepting applications for the 2009 Collector Advisory Panel (CAP). In Barbie® doll's 50th anniversary year, this is a very special opportunity for doll enthusiasts within the collecting community to share their thoughts, ideas, and passion for Barbie® with the dedicated Barbie® Collector team at Mattel. Applications must be postmarked by February 13, 2009 and will not be accepted after that date. If selected, panelists will be notified by Mattel, Inc. on or around February 27, 2009.
The 2009 panel will be made up of eight collectors who will regularly participate in surveys and idea sharing about Barbie® doll collecting throughout Barbie doll's 50th anniversary year. Once selected, the panelists will enjoy an extra special CAP Orientation Day hosted at the Mattel headquarters in Southern California, at Mattel's expense*. The annual CAP Orientation Day is currently scheduled for April 6. In order to be considered for CAP, you must be available to attend the all day orientation on April 6 in El Segundo, factoring in travel time the day before and after the event.

Please note: The Collector Advisory Panel is intended to represent hobbyists only - individuals that collect for the pure joy of collecting. For this reason, dealers, storeowners, and writers for collector publications are not eligible to participate. You must be 18 years or older to apply.
All completed application materials must be postmarked by February 13, 2009. The selected panelists will be notified on or around February 27, 2009.
