I hate DHL shipping, a class action lawsuit or something needs to be started against them.

I ordered a part for my car on 11/24, the part was finally picked up on 12/14 from the place I ordered it from. It was supposed to be at my door by 12/16, that is what it was showing from the tracking number also. I called DHL on Friday(12/16) and was told that the package was delayed and promised it would be delivered to me on Monday(today).

Well... I just called to find out when my package was going to be here and was told that there is a problem with my shipment, they seemed to have lost my package. The last record they have from the package was it being picked up at the business in North Carolina on 12/14. There is no record of the package arriving at the NC distribution center. I inquired as to when my package might arrive and was told it might never arrive, but they would try their best to figure out where it was. They also informed me to get ahold of the place I ordered from and have them file a claim. I asked how long the claims process might take and was told it could take some time, because of the volume of packages they are handling since it is Christmas. Now I guess I just have to play the waiting game why one of my cars sits and waits to be repaired. :cussing:

This is the second problem I have had with DHL, the first time they lost my digital camera from Dell. I wish businesses would stop using them for shipments. :cussing: :cussing: :cussing: :banghead: :lightning

omg, im so sorry to hear that cc jr =[

i hope those bastids get their stuff together

Stick with UPS. It always feels good to see that nice big down truck drive by, knowing they have one of your packages that you have been waiting for :)
But as for DHL, ive never used them, and judging by your experience, I doubt I shall use them in the future

I had kind of the same kind of problem with UPS, a couple of weeks ago, I ordered a new Camo coat from Bass Pro Shops and got the 2 day shipping hoping it would be here in time for black powder season (It gets mighty cold in the woods at 4 in the morning) that would've put it to be delivered Thursday 2 weeks ago. well where I am, we had about a quarter inch of snowthe day it should've been delivered, remember this is a guranteed delivery package, and my dads work got their UPS Shipments twice that day (One a delivery in the morning and once for picking up packages in the afternoon) so i think it will be here and it wasn't then Friday my dad got his shipments (both of em) and i thought that it would be here (Saturday was the start of black powder season) and it didnt come either, I was wondering why they could just not deliver some ground packages which dont really have a guranteed delivery date and deliver the air packages, they finally got around to delivering it monday (A week ago) and now i have my coat but no deer, Thanks UPS!!! :thumbs_do

sorry to hear about your packages, Choo :(

i agree with Apocalypse716. i won't use DHL after hearing about your experiences.

I most likely will never use DHL, as they do not have good service in my area, they operate out of 2 unmarked white Ford vans, and I don't even know where their hub in my area is :thumbs_do

DHL is actually my prefferred method os shipping. Our company has had a contract with them and the former Airborne for several years. Before DHL bought Airborne, Airborne was a mess. However, DHL has been very good as far my own personal shipping and receiving experience goes. Since my company has a corporate contract with them, I get their corporate rates for shipping and pay about 1/3 what UPS, FedEx, and USPS typically charge. When I first started working for my company, I worked in our mailroom. Airborne at the time had some major problems, but DHL has been on the ball. I cannot tell you the number of problems I have had with FedEx, USPS, and UPS (not to mention UPS's extremely late next-day delivery). I have yet to have a problem with DHL and I'll continue to use them. I guess even if one bad thing did happen, it wouldn't stop me from using them as I understand these things happen. But the 2nd time would probably sway me.

FYI - I worked at The UPS Store and if you ship air (Next Day, 2nd Day or 3-day) you are guarrenteed your money back if it is not delivered on time (delayed delivery due to circumstances beyond thier control, ie. acts of God (weather) are not included). But the shipper is refunded thier money. So if you order from a company who uses UPS and your package is late, the company must call UPS and say "hey this package was late" and thier account will be credited and hopefully they will be nice enough to credit you the shipping as well.

Yes, but with UPS next day is usually about 2-4pm. DHL is usually by noon. I know the circumstances vary, so that's just my own experience.

UPS has 3 different levels of Next Day Services, UPS Next Day Air Early A.M. is guranteed by 8:30 AM in most areas, then regular UPS Next Day Air is guranteed by 10 or 10:30 AM, and UPS Next Day Air Saver is guranteed by 4:30 PM

Well, I have one problem w/UPS(better make that two). 1)I heard a thud outside my door then someone driving off. It was UPS. The guy was too lazy to come inside my fence and threw my package onto my porch. 2)I have to watch my outside dog, because one of their drivers is infatuated w/him. He is a solid white Siberian Husky and this guy remarks each time how rare a solid white one is. I am scared the dog will disappear.

You do know that those UPS Drivers are required to be in a union. Also, our UPS has done a few weird things (Being lazy) I left some outgoing packages on my doorstep knowing that UPS was going to be delivering a package that night, i saw the driver running as fast as he could back to his truck, and looking over his shoulder at me coming out the door, leaving the packages, I wonder what would've happened if he came 5 minutes earlier when I had my shotgun out? All you have to do is call UPS and tell them, and it will usually be stopped.

This exact thread is over at hardforum.com I swear DHL screws some people's stuff up pretty badly. I've had about 20 experiences w/ them (dell RMAs) and they haven't let me down yet, but i wouldn't use them for anything else. Sorry to hear CHooch

Every single package I have gotten from DHL has been late and beaten and battered to bits (and filthy). :( Plus the customer service is HORRIBLE....UGH!

Most DHL employees are union as well.

The one thing I do not like about UPS is that they often leave packages at my doorstep if no one is home. Occasionally, they will attempt redelivery. DHL usually attempts to get a signature. And UPS packages are always filthy when I receive them. They are so dusty they make me sneeze. I just received a package at home yesterday from DHL (an order from karmaloop.com). They left it in the office. No problems. Package was clean and neat.

You can get a signature form UPS, but it will cost 2 bucks to the shipper, also there is Shipper Release, which is free, meaning UPS will leave the package without any signature or anything, my packages usually aren't dusty though

With online tracking, I always catch them saying they made attempts when they have not! I have complained (imagine me, complaining!) to no avail, they just don't care.......lazy, lazy. But, I must say it could be regional, in my old neighborhood, my UPS guy was a doll! :)

my dad has called and complained that their parts delivery was too late in the morning (Around 10 AM) and that would just not work out, so now they're there barley after the doors open at around 7 or 8, thats what complaining will get you ;)

From what I read, it sound as if UPS/DHL varies from place to place, and depends on where you are located. My UPS is awesome, and it gets things here on time, in boxes in good condition. I havent tried DHL, but i dont think i will because im getting exceptional service from UPS.
